I am very excited to start my first year at William H. Ryder Math & Science Specialty School as a Diverse Learner Teacher. I have over 15 years of experience in the area of Special Education that has ranged from classroom teacher to administrator. My undergraduate degree is from Western Illinois University with a major in Biology and a Minor in Geology. I then went on to earn my Masters in Education from Lewis University with an emphasis in Special Education. I was afforded the opportunity to teach English to students in Ethiopia and experience their rich and vibrant culture. It is from these experiences that I will draw from, to make learning fun and engaging in these unprecedented times. It will be my goal to be open with my communication, explicit in my instruction, and patient as we all navigate through this new way of learning. The ultimate goal is that all of our students are learning and prepared for the future. With that in mind, my challenge to you, is to help me help your child to get to where they want to be. I will be available through email, text messages and via phone. Let’s make this a year to remember!
